On April 12, 2019, APC’s Second Plenary Meeting in 2019 was held in Shanghai. Senior experts in the optical fiber and cable industry and representatives of all the member units of the association attended the meeting and shared opinions on topics including "2019 Global Optical Fiber and Cable Conference Organizers and Major Sponsors" “the Establishment of the 2019 Global Optical Fiber and Cable Conference Preparatory Group”, as well as "Issues Related to APC’s New Members Development". More importantly, heavyweight leaders contributed valuable comments and suggestions to the discussion on "Competition situation and countermeasures of overseas optical fiber and cable market in 2019" and "How to maintain the harmonious and healthy development of global optical fiber and cable industry in current situation".
In this meeting, all the members voted to approve that APC and Hengtong will host the 2019 Global Optical Fiber and Cable Conference. Additionally, the meeting determined the Jade Sponsors and part Diamond Sponsors of the 2019 Global Fiber Optic Fiber Cable Conference.
In addition to the above-mentioned major resolutions, the meeting reached the following consensus:
1.Establish as soon as possible the Global Optical Fiber and Cable Conference 2019 Preparatory Group, Advisory Group and Conference Services Group, responsible for the preparation of the 2019 Global Optical Fiber and Cable Conference;
2.The plan of the 2019 Global Optical Fiber and Optical Cable Congress was put forward by the Network Telecom and Hengtong Group, and the concrete implementation results were obtained through the discussion at the meeting of the Association.
3.The association forms the organization department / the membership department, which is responsible for the member recruitment, formulates the associate member standard;
4.The Association will work on revising the raw material standard for optical fiber and cable applicable to the optical fiber and optical cable industry.
The bright spot of this meeting was the thinking collision and the flower of thought produced by the industry elite and decision makers on how to internationalize reasonably and effectively in Chinese optical fiber and cable enterprises. This profound discussion lit a roadlight for the internationalization of Chinese fiber optic cable enterprises. Senior experts and industry leaders believe that: establishing and issuing some standards in the field of optical fiber and cable, strengthening the micro-innovation and technological innovation of Chinese enterprises, and establishing a healthy and positive world image of Chinese optical fiber and cable enterprises, as well as the formation of a new order of competition in the overseas market of Chinese enterprises, all are effective and efficient methods for Chinese optical fiber and cable enterprises to become an important industry leader in the world market.
The industry imposes great expectations for the APC Association. It is hoped that APC can form an effective dialogue mechanism for the international expansion of Chinese enterprises, and can participate in and lead the formulation of industry standards.
