Google's newly invested submarine cable system is about to land in Grand Strand, South Carolina, USA.
The new submarine cable system Firmina, designed to connect North and South America, will connect Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay to the United States and is designed as a 12-fiber pair trunk that will improve access to Google services for South American users.

It is reported that the manufacture of the system cables and equipment will take place in 2021/2022 at SubCom's manufacturing campus in Newington (New Hampshire, USA), with the main laying and installation operations scheduled for summer 2022.
According to the plan, the system will be put into use by the end of 2023.
